Guidelines for the Wainwright and Bullock Awards

THE BULLOCK POETRY PRIZE 2021
 
PRIZE: The Bullock Poetry Prize is given in association with the Academy of American Poets and awards $300 for the best poem or group of poems by a student presently enrolled at Williams. The prize may be shared if the judge feels there is a tie.
 
JUDGE:  The judge for this year’s contest is Ishion Hutchinson.
 
STUDENT READING: The judge will select a winner (or co-winners) and two or three Honorable Mentions.  These students will be invited to participate in our annual poetry and fiction reading scheduled for May 3rd.
 
DEADLINE: Submit between 1 and 5 poems by Monday, March 15, 12:00 p.m. Do not submit poems that won or were named for Honorable Mention in earlier Bullock contests.
 
All poems must be submitted in a single attachment via email to Patricia Malanga ([email protected]). Please be sure to label the file of your submission using the following template: LastnamefirstnameBullocksubmission.doc or .pdf. Labelless submissions will not be entered in the contest.
THE BENJAMIN B. WAINWRIGHT AWARD 2021
 
PRIZE: The Wainwright awards $300 for the best story by a student presently enrolled at Williams. The prize may be shared if the judge feels there is a tie.
 
JUDGE:  The judge for this year’s contest is Kali Fajardo-Anstine.
 
STUDENT READING: The judge will select a winner (or co-winners) and two or three Honorable Mentions.  These students will be invited to participate in our annual poetry and fiction reading scheduled for May 3rd.
 
DEADLINE: Submit 2 stories by Monday, March 15, 12:00 p.m. Do not submit poems that won or were named for Honorable Mention in earlier Wainwright contests.
